New data from the General Administration of Customs show that in the first two months of 2021, China's exports of mechanical and electrical products reached 1.85 trillion yuan, an increase of 54.1%, accounting for 60.3% of the total export value.

In terms of main equipment, in February 2021, China exported 1.75 million machine tools, with a year-on-year increase of 382.3%; imported 4541 machine tools, with a year-on-year increase of 25.2%. In the first two months of 2021, China exported 4.24 million machine tools, with a year-on-year increase of 82.4%; and imported 14160 machine tools, with a year-on-year increase of 62%. In the first two months of 2021, the import and export of China's machine tool industry continued the growth trend of 2020 and continued to pick up, which was mainly due to the rapid development of downstream automobile, construction machinery and other industries.

On the whole, in the first two months of 2021, China's export of major machinery and equipment performed well, with machine tools, agricultural machinery and mechanical basic parts maintaining a high export growth rate. However, the import performance of main machinery and equipment is not good. Except that the import of tractors and machine tools kept a growth rate of 345.8% and 62% respectively, the growth rate of other equipment was relatively low, and the growth rate of harvesting machinery, packaging machinery and food processing machinery decreased to varying degrees.
