How to clean the scale of water cooled condenser

1、 Check the scaling condition: the scaling of the condenser used in the low temperature test chamber usually has the following performances:

(1) The cleaning fluid can be added to the cooling water system in a certain proportion, and the cooling pump can be started to circulate for 12 ~ 24 hours. The cleaning fluid will circulate continuously, and the sediment layer will dissolve and fall off due to the chemical action and scouring action of the cleaning fluid. However, this method requires a lot of cleaning solution, and the cost is high.

(2) For the cleaning of single condenser, the circulating pump and pipe can be connected between the cleaning storage tank and the condenser to form a closed circuit, so that the cleaning solution can be continuously circulated for 12 ~ 24 hours, and the sediment can be dissolved and shed.

(3)Immersion type is adopted. Mix the cleaning solution according to a certain proportion, add it into the condenser and let it stand for 5 ~ 10 hours to soften and dissolve the sediment. Drain the cleaning solution and wash it with clean water.  

Check the fouling of the condenser in the low temperature test chamber: open the condenser end cover, you may see the scene shown in Figure 2.

Fig. 2 the original color of the copper tube can not be seen in the scaling of the water-cooled condenser. The scaling is very serious and needs to be cleaned in time. The main causes of scale formation are: calcium and magnesium ions in cooling water crystallize and precipitate in the form of salt when heated and condense on the inner wall of copper pipe; metal oxidation products in system pipeline; slime caused by bacteria and algae breeding, etc.

 

2、 Chemical cleaning

(1) Use cleaning solution for cleaning, first use acid solution for cleaning, then use alkali solution for neutralization and cleaning, * and then use clean water for flushing. The cleaning fluid can be added to the cooling water system in a certain proportion, and the cooling pump can be started to circulate for 12 ~ 24 hours. The cleaning fluid will circulate continuously, and the sediment layer will dissolve and fall off due to the chemical action and scouring action of the cleaning fluid. However, this method requires a lot of cleaning solution, and the cost is high.

 (2) For the cleaning of single condenser, the circulating pump and pipe can be connected between the cleaning storage tank and the condenser to form a closed circuit, so that the cleaning solution can be continuously circulated for 12 ~ 24 hours, and the sediment can be dissolved and shed.

Advantages of chemical cleaning: 

It can remove scale thoroughly and save manpower. Disadvantages of chemical cleaning: it may cause corrosion to copper tube of condenser; waste liquid discharge after cleaning; high cost of reagent. During chemical cleaning, attention must be paid to the proportion of solution, circulation and soaking time to prevent the condenser from being corroded.

 

3、 Physical cleaning

Physical cleaning method is to use soft shaft brush cleaning. The flexible shaft is driven by the motor of the cleaning machine. There is a nylon brush in front of the flexible shaft. When in use, the flexible shaft and brush are extended into the copper tube of the condenser, and the dirt in the copper tube is removed by rotating the forward brush at high speed, and then washed with clean water. 

The advantages of physical cleaning: the cost of chemical cleaning agent is saved; the problem of waste liquid discharge or treatment after chemical cleaning is avoided; it is not easy to cause the corrosion of condenser copper tube.

Disadvantages of physical cleaning: for hard scale and corrosion products with strong adhesion, the effect of physical cleaning is not good; cleaning operation is labor-consuming.

 

4、 Overview

It is suggested that chemical cleaning should be combined with physical cleaning when the adhesive is too hard. First, soak the condenser with cleaning solution, after the binder softens, remove the scale by physical cleaning method, and then rinse with clean water.
